Annual Incident Statistics
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service attended a total of 23,762 incidents during the period 1 April 2005 to 31 March 2006 (referred to hereafter, as 2005f). This figure represents a decrease of 263 incidents when compared to 2004f (a fall of 1.1%). Figure 1 shows these statistics added to the data covering the last 10 years, with the associated trendline displaying an overall downward trend over the period. The components making the most significant contribution to the decrease in the total number of incidents are the downturns in the incidence of both Primary and Secondary Fires, from the previous years’ figures.
