Organising safer events - policy and guidance

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service has developed the safer events policy and guidance documents in partnership with; Local Authorities in Northumberland and Tyne and Wear, Northumbria Police, North East Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service, Tyne and Wear Emergency Planning Unit and Northumberland Emergency Planning Department.

These documents provide a framework for organisations across the region to apply safety requirements when organising events.

This guidance can be applied to events of all sizes, held by any type of organisation or individual.

  • Safer Events Guidance [pdf / 44KB] The document is intended as guidance to organisations involved in the public safety of both licensed and non-licensed events and promotes interagency discussion and involvement in the principles of the "Safety Advisory Group" as a means of achieving a safe event.
