Home Safety Film for Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Watch the Video

This film has been produced to be a lasting resource for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in our community and  is now also available as a DVD. The film is presented by Watch Manager Steve Graham, a fire service employee with over 25 years experience. Steve has a special interest in supporting the Deaf community, his son Euan is deaf and Steve has spent a number of years learning to communicate in British Sign Language (BSL).

As a service, we wanted to improve our resources to ensure that everyone in our community is aware of the dangers of fire, and we have worked with Steve to produce this film as a first step to produce a number resources for people with sensory impairments.

In the film Steve looks at the hazards present in the home, and explains how to stay safe using BSL.
