The Emergency SMS (short messaging service) service is an add on to the existing 999 emergency service provided currently, allowing people to text 999 call operators.
In order to use the service you must pre-register your phone for the service by visiting www.emergencysms.org.uk. To do this follow the instructions provided in the section ‘registering your phone’ or play the video link for this information.
