The Arson Task Force have been instrumental in facilitating a number of Community Action Days within the boroughs of Gateshead and North Tyneside.

 

Many communities have to contend with their environment being destroyed by such acts as, anti-social behaviour, deliberate fire setting and illegal or irresponsible disposal of waste. The taxpayers and rising insurance premiums meet the financial cost of tackling these issues.

 

Working closely with partner agencies, such as the Police and Council, we can make a difference; a Community Action Day will address many of the concerns residents have. It will challenge those responsible for the social decay of their environment, that such behaviour won't be tolerated; it will present a united approach to the communities that we serve by offering the support they feel hasn't been available. Confidence will be restored, and this will bring about a positive regard to their environment, which in turn will result in them taking operational ownership of their area.
