Each year we undertake consultations regarding various topics informed by current organisational priorities. Each of these consultation events will be undertaken in one of the following ways:
Focus Groups
These are small, informal discussion groups of around 10 - 12 people. Unless the subject of the consultation is a local issue, specific to a particular geographical area or community, we access the services of Northumbria Police Authority's
citizen panel.
Surveys
These may vary in length and are issued with a pre-paid envelope for their return. They can cover a variety of issues and depending upon its focus, may be sent to a random selection of households within Tyne and Wear. Other surveys ask specific questions for those who have recently experienced our service and are sent out to selected individuals.
On-line Questionnaires
We are currently developing a rolling programme of
on-line surveys. These will seek views on a variety of issues including recently published documents and proposed plans for the future
