4. Stay Put Policy

4.1 With regards to fire evacuation, there should not be a stay put policy within residential care premises. Evacuation should commence as soon as possible after the alarm has actuated (However, note the contents of section 5)

4.2 Evacuation will be carried out via progressive horizontal evacuation and progressive vertical evacuation where the home is multi-storey. Upper floors will be evacuated as part of the normal procedure. (Refer to section 2 item 2.2)
