1.1 Routine Inspection
A fire safety officer will carry out routine fire inspections. The frequency of this inspection is based on the life safety hazard associated with the premises concerned and will be at intervals determined by the Fire Authority.

1.3 Action required of the provider/manager
The provider (manager) must ensure that all work specified in the report has been completed within a reasonable time (specified in the report where necessary). The provider (manager) may be requested to inform the Fire Safety Officer when the work has been completed in order to allow a follow up visit to be made.
If the provider (manager) encounters any problems, the Fire Safety Officer should be contacted for advice and guidance.
For minor work, an inspector from the Commission for Social Care Inspection will ensure that any remedial work has been carried out to a satisfactory standard and will inform the Fire Safety Officer concerned.
1.4 Notification to Building Control
Where any unauthorised building work is encountered during a fire inspection, the Local Authority Fire Safety Officer will notify the Local Authority Building Control. This does not remove the duty on the provider to fully comply with the requirements of the Building Regulations 1991 in the first instance.
