9.1 A fire precautions register (log book) shall be held in each home and it is the responsibility of the provider/manager to keep a written record of:-
Fire inspections;
Subsequent copy of any fire safety inspection report;
Fire drills;
Fire instruction;
Inspection
and maintenance of all fire equipment;
A detailed record of all actuations of the fire alarm system either false, fault or real;
A detailed record of the inspection and maintenance of the emergency lighting system;
Any other fire related happenings as they occur;
Location of the fire risk assessment;
When reviews of the fire risk assessment take place
When individual care plans are reviewed regarding fire related risks
NOTE :- It is anticipated that the fire safety updates will be issued via the Commission for Social Care Inspection by the Regional Fire and Rescue Services in the future, these should be acted upon as necessary and retained within the dedicated section of the log book for reference purposes.
