3.1 The registered manager must record details of each fire drill and fire instruction session in the fire precautions register (log book), individual training records or whatever recording methodology they think fit. The details should be sufficient to demonstrate to an inspecting officer what the drill or training session actually consisted of including:

3.2 The names of every member of staff who took part in the drill/instruction session must be recorded.
3.3 The recording methodology must ensure every member of staff receives the appropriate level of training and is at the discretion of the provider. The use of personal record cards or spreadsheets is advised.
3.4 Under no circumstances will the home be under the supervision of someone who has not undertaken the appropriate level of fire training. (Appropriate is defined as having received and duly recorded the required number of fire instruction sessions and taken part in the requisite number of fire drills deemed acceptable to the particular care home in question).
