7. Staff/Fire Wardens

7.1 Fire Wardens are members of staff who have received more in-depth training from a competent person. Their duties include:-
 
  • Identify hazards in the workplace
  • Ensure escape routes are available for use
  • Record and report observations
  • Take appropriate and effective action if a fire occurs
 
N.B. Staff used as fire wardens must receive refresher courses from a recognized Fire Trainer at periods not exceeding 3 years to ensure continued competency.
The individual’s competency will be checked at inspection.
