District Priorities 2016/17

In order to deliver services that are tailored to the needs and risks of the local community each district works towards priorities that are reviewed annually to ensure that the risk of incidents occurring is reduced. The priorities are based on consultation with Local Authority partners and the risks identified by the Service. The following priorities have been set for Newcastle in 2016/17:

  • Number of deaths from accidental dwelling fires
  • Number of deaths from all fires
  • Number of injuries from accidental fires in dwellings, excluding precautionary checks
  • Number of injuries from all fires
  • Number of accident fires in dwellings
  • Number of accidental kitchen fires in dwellings
  • Number or accident non kitchen fires in dwellings
  • Number of deliberate secondary fires
  • Number of deliberate refuse fires
  • Number of all deliberate fires
  • Number of false alarm calls due to automatic fire alarms from non domestic premises
  • Number of false alarm calls due to automatic fire detection from domestic premises
  • Total number of fire calls attended
  • Number of primary fires attended
  • Number of fires in a non domestic property
  • Total number of incidents (recorded at time of call)
  • Number of HSCs successfully deliver by TWFRS

In addition to the district specific priorities identified above all five districts also work towards reducing the impact of the service wide priorities relating to fire.

An overview of performance in relation to the district priorities outlined above is provided within the Performance Reports section.
