The greatest risk lies in the home and over the past years and in the future we have focused our efforts on reducing fires in the home and preventing injuries and deaths from fire. Prevention is a major strand of our work, however we still provide a very effective response when required to do so.
We work very closely with our partners as part of the Local Strategic Partnership and have combined with the Primary Care Trust, the Borough Council, Police and many others to provide a multi-agency approach to the priorities of the people of South Tyneside, especially on improving safety.
